On Monday 8th September, OHS officially kicked off Freshers’ Week in Manchester by hosting its first-ever student sample sale at Salford’s Peel Park Campus. The free, ticketed event attracted thousands of students, all eager to shop an extensive range of OHS Homeware at a fraction of the usual price.
With every item heavily discounted at just £3, students were able to transform their new university flats for under £20. From bedding and cushion covers to throws and bathroom accessories, the sale made stylish home comforts accessible on a student budget. Because of this, it’s no surprise that the OHS event was shouted about by "The Manc", the friendly and local go- to news publisher for all Mancunians.
If this wasn’t enough, an impressive £1,100 was given away in cash prizes to a few lucky winners. Shoppers were automatically entered into the draw, with winners walking away with a share of the day’s takings: first prize received a staggering 50%, second 30%, and third 20%.
Molly Graham, a first-year student who secured top prize, is wisely putting her prize towards a new laptop for her studies. Rashvi Perera, an international student who bagged 2nd prize, plans to use her money for going home to visit family. Finally, third prize winner Emma Hardman will use her share of the prize to take her children to Disneyland Paris next week.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Attendees also snapped up additional rewards throughout the day, including various sweet treats and gift vouchers, making the event a true celebration of student life.
This was ours brands first event of its kind, and we saw a great reception from students, creators, family, and friends alike.
