Pieces That Move with the Season: Effortless Style & Comfort
As the seasons change, there’s always that awkward in-between stage, isn’t there? In my house, I’ll wake up shivering in the morning, rummage for a jumper, then by mid-afternoon I’m peeling it off because the sun’s made a surprise appearance. It’s the same with the sofa – one minute you want to curl up under a blanket, the next you’re kicking it off. That’s why transitional pieces are my go-to at this time of year. They keep you cosy when there’s a chill, but not so heavy that you’re sweltering. And while we’re at it, why not embrace the season with a few autumnal touches throughout the home?
As the season changes, I find it’s lovely to bring a touch of autumn’s energy into the home. Swapping out a few pieces of décor and soft furnishings can really help you feel in tune with the outdoors while keeping things cosy and inviting inside.
Throws
One of the easiest ways to add warmth without overheating is by layering throws. The OHS Jumbo Waffle Fur Throw is brilliant for those cooler evenings when you want extra comfort but don’t need the full weight of winter blankets. And for a pop of colour, the OHS Ribbed Fleece Throw instantly adds seasonal character whether draped over the arm of your sofa or layered across the end of a bed. If you’re after the cosy cottage look, the OHS Ultra Soft Tassel Throw works beautifully in a living room or bedroom, adding just the right mix of practicality and charm.

Cushions
Cushions are another simple swap that makes a big impact. The OHS Thick Faux Fur Waffle Cushion Covers are one of the most comfortable and practical additions I’ve made to my home. Not only are they a stylish eye-catcher, but their luxurious look and feel have made them an instant conversation piece when guests are over. The OHS Boucle Cushion Covers, although more understated, are perfect if you want that trendy, textured look that still feels homely and warm. To soften things further, the OHS Sofia Faux Fur Cushion Covers add a cosy and slightly glamorous layer, making them versatile enough for both family rooms and bedrooms.
Loungewear
Of course, comfort isn’t just for our interiors – transitional loungewear is a must. The OHS Teddy Full Zip Fleece is my go-to for those chilly school runs when the air feels crisp but not quite coat weather. The OHS Waterfall Teddy Fleece Shorter Length Cardigan is perfect for layering at home when I’m catching up on housework, and it’s also the one I throw on if I need to nip out to the shops. For evenings, the OHS Mono Stripe Button Through Pyjama Set is breathable enough so that I don’t overheat when I’m curled up with the kids, watching a film, yet still cosy when the night draws in. And for that finishing touch, the OHS Ribbed Fleece Pocket Scarf comes in handy on those in-between days when the weather can’t decide – I’ll pop it on for the playground pick-up or even just pottering about in the garden.

As the days grow shorter, it’s all about creating a home and wardrobe that feel comforting yet adaptable. With a few well-chosen, affordable pieces, you can embrace the season in style while keeping comfort front and centre – proof that staying on-trend doesn’t have to cost the earth.
