Christmas Lights

A common rule of thumb is around 100 lights for every foot of tree height. Use more if you like a bright, sparkly look, or fewer for a softer glow.

Only use lights outdoors if they’re rated for outdoor use. Check the product listing before hanging any lights outside.

Add lights before any other decorations, starting at the bottom and working up, weaving them in towards the trunk as well as along the branch tips. Our guide on how to decorate a Christmas tree has more tips.

Warm white has a soft, golden glow that feels cosy and traditional, while cool white is crisper and brighter with a frosty look.

Wrap each set around a piece of card or a reel when packing away. Our Christmas storage range helps keep lights and decorations organised for next year.
